Social Media Strategist: Three Rules of Online Content Creation

If your online marketing and social media marketing content doesn’t do at least one of three things, you are likely to repel the very people you want most to attract.  I don’t care if you are video marketing, article marketing, Facebook marketing, Twitter marketing or blog marketing.

I was visiting with a friend of mine, a social media consultant and social media strategist named Russ Henneberry, who is really good at content creation.  He lives in St. Louis, Missouri and is a talented online marketing and email marketing thought leader who I respect very much.

Russ advises his clients and encourages them to provide value in at least one of three ways.  He tells them to ask the following questions before posting content online.

Does your content educate people?

Does your content entertain people?

Does your content inspire people?

If your answer to all of those questions is no, then you may be wasting your time and resources creating and sharing content online that  isn’t going to help drive your business or personal brand.  The more educate, entertain and inspire your ideal audience, the better.
